Migraines and SSDI

As has been mentioned on this website, there is no Social Security listing for Migraine Headaches. In other words, you cannot win a Social Security Disability claim arising from migraine headaches based a diagnosis of migraines alone. You will have to go beyond showing that you have the medical condition known as Migraine Headaches to prove that your condition prevents you from being able to hold down any job.

To do this, you have to show that the symptoms, complications, medication side effects, and other limitations arising from your experience with migraine headaches have left you unable to reliably perform any type of work. This strategy of winning your migraine disability claim is known as the functional capacity argument for Migraines.
